Robin Scibek is a communications professional with over fifteen years of experience leading and participating in outreach and communications initiatives to engage the broader technical and scientific communities. Robin is currently serving as director of communications at PSC and leading a team to develop and implement a communications and brand strategy for PSC and associated projects. With a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a master’s degree in Business Administration, both from the University of Pittsburgh, Robin’s education and experience enable her to be an effective conduit of information from the multidisciplinary research teams that she works with to broader audiences. During her tenure at PSC, she’s led outreach initiatives and created complementary communications material to engage audiences ranging from K-12 students and teachers, research scientists, IT professionals, and underrepresented communities, to lay audiences to raise awareness and engage new communities. Robin is a co-PI and associate director for Broader Impacts on the NSF Bridges-2 project and a Co-investigator leading outreach and communications initiatives for the Infrastructure and Engagement Component for NIH’s HuBMAP Consortium. Outside of PSC, Robin enjoys volunteering in her community with the Mt. Lebanon Women’s Club and Serve2Cure, playing tennis, and paper crafting.
