The ACCESS Allocations team has released a new option for campus CI facilitators to connect your researchers and instructors directly to information about the NSF ACCESS program and its resources.

An ACCESS On-Ramp is an inline JavaScript component that organizations can embed into their websites to allow their community to browse through ACCESS resources. The interface and filters are similar to the ACCESS Resources page to make it even easier for new audiences to discover and use powerful ACCESS resources.

On-Ramps allows for simple self-service deployment—essentially copying and pasting a few lines of Javascript into a web page—with most organizations able to implement it independently, though technical assistance is readily available. One partner noted about the process, “It was so easy!” Another partner said, “The installation process was easy and has been implemented seamlessly by the IT team. We are now ready to access the computing resources and move forward with research.”

You can see some of the early On-Ramps deployed by the Rocky Mountain Advanced Computing Consortium (RMACC), Illinois Computes at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Baylor University, and Jackson State University.

The On-Ramps pilot was developed by the ACCESS Allocations service as part of its efforts to incorporate innovative features into the allocations environment and democratize access to the NSF-funded cyberinfrastructure ecosystem.

The Allocations team seeks more sites to provide feedback and help improve and expand On-Ramps features. To learn more, visit the On-Ramps page.

In other ACCESS news, researchers can explore projects going on at their local institution with our Current Projects page, and browse resources with the ACCESS Resource Catalog. The ACCESS Resource Catalog is a major collaboration victory thanks to Matt Yoder, who led its development and deployment, with stellar project management from Holly Klinesmith.
