PSC Biannual Reports Take Three Hermes Creative Awards

PSC’s Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 biannual reports, “People. Science. Collaboration,”
have received high recognition in the 2014 Hermes Creative Awards. The publications
garnered platinum awards in Publications/Other and Writing/Technical, and a gold award
for Design/Publication Overall.
The biannual report team consists of Ken Chiacchia, senior writer; Shandra Williams,
design and production; Vivian Benton, managing editor and Cheryl Begandy, project
coordination. The publication’s mission is to show government leaders, journalists and
other audiences how PSC’s experts, research projects and educational programs provide
high performance computing solutions to problems in the physical sciences, biology and
genetics, public health and new fields to supercomputing such as the humanities.
Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals
involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and
emerging technologies. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication
departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, graphic design shops, production
companies, web and digital creators and freelancers.
One of the largest competitions of its kind in the world, Hermes Creative Awards
is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication
Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand marketing,
communication, advertising, public relations, media production, web and freelance
professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides
judges and sets standards for excellence.
